Question: Is it possible for us to be married when we arrive from overseas?
Answer: Yes. Provided you have filled out the required paperwork within the specified time and have the required documents with you.
Question: Can we marry anywhere we like in Australia?
Answer: Yes. There are no restrictions on where you can get married but some venues such as parks need to be booked and paid for in advance
Question: Can we marry at any time (Day or Night)
Answer: Yes. Any time is legal time in Australia
Question: Can you assist us with writing the ceremony?
Answer: Yes. I will work with you to ensure that your ceremony captures everything you require.
Question: Can we write our own ceremony?
Answer: Yes. However there are a number of legal requirements that must be included for the marriage to be legal in Australia
Question: Will our marriage in Sydney be recognised worldwide?
Answer: In most cases however it is recommended that you check with your countries consulate
Question: Do specific parties have to change their last name after the ceremony?
Answer: No. This is not a legal requirement
Question: How many witnesses do we have to have at the ceremony?
Answer: Two. Both must be over 18 years of age
Question: Can same sex couples be married in Australia?
Answer: Yes. In 2017 The Australian people voted overwhelmingly for marriage equality and on December 9th 2017 it became lawful

Question: Is it necessary for both of us to have a wedding ring?
Answer: No. Rings are not a legal requirement
Question: If our documents and papers are in another language do we have to get them translated?
Question: Is it necessary to bring our birth certificates, divorce papers, death certificates with us on the wedding day to show you again?
Answer: No. Once the Notice of Intended Marriage form is signed and I have sighted the required paperwork I don't have to see these again
